A. Up to three years; however, the period could be less based on the need as determined by the board.

Q. Are grants made to organizations such as the YMCA or YWCA which have several components, with only one or two having a direct relationship with children?
A. Yes—in fact, we have funded a children’s program at the Forsyth County YWCA.

Q. What is the amount of a typical grant?
A. The amount of a typical grant depends on the program and the needs as expressed in the application. Grants made by The Fund include up to $22,500 over a three-year period.

Q. Do you fund programs outside of Forsyth County, North Carolina?
A. No. We only award grants to organizations in Forsyth County, North Carolina.

Q. Does The Fund monitor the progress of the implementation of funded programs?
A. Yes. This is done through on-site visits from board members or consultants as well as regularly scheduled written reports to the board.

Q. After receiving a multi-year grant, would The Fund guarantee payment for the life of the grant?
A. No. Even though the grant provides for funding over a number of years, each recipient organization signs a written agreement to fulfill certain terms and conditions. If these are not met, the grant may be curtailed.
